Margaret

Margaret, an experienced ex-nursing sister, and her late husband Dr Kevin Hackett who together opened the Avalon Veterinary Hospital in 1984. Margaret went on to open her cattery in the late 80's, Margaret has been providing expert care for cats ever since, now supported by her 3 daughters, two of whom established Hackett Hounds & Cats.

Adrienne

Adrienne

Hackett Hounds & Cats was founded in 2013 by sisters, entrepreneurs and animal lovers, Adrienne and Danielle.

With an extensive background in marketing, Adrienne made the switch from corporate work to pursue her true passion - working with animals. With knowledge passed down by her late father, a Veterinarian, and courses completed on Animal Behaviour through Ondestepoort University under the guidence of Dr Quixie Sontag, Hackett Hounds & Cats has become a well-respected animal care service provider throughout the area.

Danielle

Danielle

Hackett Hounds & Cats was opened in 2013 by siblings Danielle and Adrienne.

After studying Public Relations, Danielle decided to follow her true passion and love for animals, which was shaped by her late father who was a Veterinarian. To further her studies, she completed various Animal Behaviour courses through Onderstepoort University under the guidance of Dr Quixie Sontag.

At Hackett Hounds & Cats, we specialize in cattery, dog daycare and grooming. We are proud to offer our customers a safe and fun environment for their beloved pets. Our team of animal lovers is passionate about providing the best possible care for your pets.

Melody

Melody

Leading the pack is Melody, who has been a Veterinary assistant for over 15 years, and joined the Hackett Hounds & Cats team in 2013. Melody loves her own cat, and has a passion for grooming and caring for both dogs and cats.

Tsiki aka Caroline

Caroline brings a wealth of experience from her background as a carer, and her gentle, thoughtful nature puts every pet at ease. Whether it’s cuddles or finding the perfect-sized jersey for a chilly pup, she makes sure each animal feels safe, warm, and loved.

Abel

With a big heart and a playful spirit, Abel is a natural with animals. Growing up in Malawi, he spent his days playing football with his dogs—an early sign of the special bond he shares with pets. His entrepreneurial spirit and love for staying active shine through in everything he does. Abel offers his own dog walking services between 7am - 9am and during his lunch breaks to our daycare dogs, combining his passion for fitness with his dedication to their happiness.

James

James

James works Mondays and Fridays maintaining the grounds. 

He is a passionate animal lover and enjoyes spending time playing with the dogs.

Walter

 

Walter is a qualified sous chef by trade, but after losing his job during the pandemic, he found his true calling—working with animals. He has a natural affinity for dogs and cats, something that simply can’t be taught. The dogs light up when they see Walter first thing in the morning, and his calm, caring nature makes him a beloved part of the Hackett Hounds & Cats family.
